One person has critical injuries after a crash between a car and logging truck on State Highway 1, Lichfield. A section of the highway has been closed and railway lines were blocked. A police spokeswoman said the crash, between Baldwin and Scriveners Rds, was reported at 10.02am. The deceased man was believed to be a Wairoa local in his mid-20s, who leaves behind a partner from Mahia, and two children. Boaties assisting with the search found the diver about 9am on Monday, a police spokesperson said. A relative of the diver s partner said the man was diving in the western side of Mahia.
